The AONL Innovation Sprint is a pre-conference event that will take place on Sunday, March 29, 2026, in Chicago, IL, during the AONL 2026 Inspiring Leaders Conference.
The Nursing Leaders AI Innovation Sprint
A specialized program designed to equip and empower nursing leaders with the skills, digital tools, and mindset needed to proactively address the dynamic challenges of healthcare and anticipate future trends within their organizations.
Nursing leaders will learn pragmatic ways to redefine complex healthcare issues, foster creative problem-solving, prototype innovative digital solutions through human-AI collaboration, and integrate design methods into nursing practice.
What You’ll Gain
An understanding of the value of an innovative culture through the use of design thinking skills within your health system
Co-design techniques to work through wicked problems inclusive of sourcing, identifying, validating, and clarifying issues or opportunities
How to apply the techniques to support envisioning innovative solutions in creative ways
Through reflection, collaboration and sharing, strategies on how to apply the design thinking framework within your organization
Develop digital prototypes using generative artificial intelligence (AI) platforms and leave with a funcitoning proof of concept
We will apply this innovation framework to Take it Apart | Fix it | Built it Better to solve problems surrounding:
· Amplifying the nurses' voice in impacting change
· Onboarding new nurses into practice
· Innovative care models
· Other (Or come with your own problems to solve!)
After completing the workshop, the participants will receive a digital playbook to bring back to their organization as a guide to implement the innovation and methods introduced in the workshop. The playbook will also include the next steps on applying to the NurseHack4Health Pitch-A-Thon for award funding.
